Dubai Airshow 2009

Dubai Airshow is the global and the fastest growing event attracting large masses from mall over the world. Being a trade only business-to-business exhibition, it will have no public days. The event will start from 15th November ’09 and go on till 19th November’09 at giant Dubai World Central Aviation Community in Jebel Ali. The benchmark for world-class aerospace show facilities will be lifted up by this new site. It will cover 425,000 square meters-double the size of Airport Expo Dubai-with 42,000 square meters of exhibition space having 130 chalets and car parking for 7,000 vehicles.

How to Reach:

Taxi

Official taxis operated by RTA can be recognized by their livery-beige with different colored roofs. Visitors can easily get it by the side of the road or even through phone booking by calling- 04 208 0808.

Park and Ride:

This facility will be available at the Dubai Airshow. The shuttle buses will drop the visitors to the registration building.

Hire of car and driver

Visitors can also arrange the hire of a car and driver to drop off and pick up from the Airshow. This facility can be availed through the hotel he is staying in.

Metro

The Red line runs past the Dubai Airshow site at Airport Expo and stops at nearby Rashidiya Station, which is in walking/shuttle bus distance of Airport expo.

Shuttle buses

The organizers have arranged complimentary shuttle buses sponsored by “ADNOC” for all exhibitors and visitors attending the show. The shuttle buses will run from various hotels in Dubai to and from the show site each day.

 

The Dubai Airshow is being organized by F&E Aerospace in association with Dubai Airports, the Government of Dubai and in collaboration with the UAE Armed Forces.

The nightlife in Dubai can be best rejoiced on Thursdays and Saturdays whereas going for night-out on Mondays may not be a very wise choice. The legal drinking age in Dubai is 21 and most of the nightclubs shut down between 1 am to 2 am. The few rocking ones are listed here:

Dubai Airport



Situated in Al Garhoud district, 4 km (2.5 mi) southeast of Dubai, the Dubai Airport serves as a major aviation hub in the Middle East. The airport is the home-base of Dubai's International Airlines, Emirates and Emirates Sky Cargo and is maneuvered by Department of Civil Aviation. The four-terminal airport has been recorded as the 17th busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic and 11th busiest by cargo traffic.

Transportation to Dubai Airport

Road:

The airport is well-connected by one of the longest intra-city roads, D-89, stretching from Deira Corniche and running perpendicular to D 85 (Baniyas Road). From Deira, the road progresses south-eastward towards Dubai International Airport, intersecting with E 311 (Emirates Road) past the airport.


Bus:

Local buses 4, 11, 15, 33 and 44 can be boarded to reach Terminal 1 and 3, while bus 2 connects with Terminal 2 of the airport. Dubai International Airport Buses provide air-conditioned transport into the city centre and over 80 hotels in the city.


Rail:

Dubai Metro, serving the airport will be operating 2 lines through the airport. While, The Red Line (Dubai Metro) has 2 stations at the airport and provides services to terminals 1 and 3 between 5 a.m. and 12.30 after midnight, the Green Line will operate from March, 2010, at another station in the Airport Free Zone.

Operations

Passenger:

Dubai Airport is the only airport among the top 10 airports worldwide in terms of international passenger to show positive average growth of 18%. The three terminals in operation are well equipped with not only security services but also the immigration facilities keeping in view that all the passenger traffic on Dubai airport is International in nature.


Cargo:

Being the 11th busiest airfreight hub in the world, the airport is fueled by high economic growth from Emirates. It was due to the fact that it handled 1,824,991 tonnes of cargo in 2008.


A new airport in Jebel Ali termed Al Maktoum International Airport is being planned to be constructed by. Dubai's government and is expected to be the fourth largest airport in the world by physical size, though not by passenger metrics, upon completion It is expected to open in 2010 though construction is expected to finish by the year 2017.
